Spring Style: How To Keep Your Little One Stylish This Season

By | Kids Fashion

Spring has finally sprung, and it’s time to ditch that bulky winter wardrobe for something a little more fun and sleek. Although it’s not quite warm enough to bust out your summer gear, the spring weather does require a stylish wardrobe update.

And we can help your child look cool even as the weather warms up, with her stylish fashion tips. You’ll love how good they look, and they’ll love the fact that summer is drawing closer and closer every day.

Rock Out The Preppy Look

You’ll love adding a funky edge to normally preppy outfits this spring. Dress your child in a warm pullover sweater, but pair it with distressed jeans and a pair of funky Converse sneakers. Your child will be delighted to wear their favorite heavy metal t-shirt, but they’ll look sharper than ever when paired with corduroy pants. Jump into your Pantera stroller to complete the look, and you and your child will be ready to rock!

Make A Statement

You can jazz up all your child’s spring outfits with just a single statement piece. Turn a boring dress into a dramatic look perfect for a party with a striking jacket. You can take a patterned handkerchief and pair it with a plain sweater for a look your child will love. And remember, you can get as creative as you want with statement pieces. Your kid might love to rock a colorful pair of sneakers, or prefer a hat that will turn heads. Let them suggest their own ideas — you might be surprised by what they come up with.

Play Up Pastels

As the weather gets brighter, so do the shades of your kid’s wardrobe! While it’s still great to mix dark, dramatic shades into your ensemble, be sure to go for the lighter side as well. A blue button down can be made casual with a pair of sneakers, while a soft pink sweater can perk up a darker-colored romper. It’s a fun way to combine those dark winter styles with the brighter colors that summer brings. Mix and match as needed, to keep your child’s look as fresh as the ever-warming spring weather.

Not Enough Phone Storage for Pictures?

By | Kids Fashion, Parenting

Here’s What You Can Do

We’ve all been there: you’re filming your son as he’s blowing out the candles on his first birthday cake, when all the sudden, you get a notification: “Cannot Take Photo.” You spend the rest of the party asking the other adults if they can take some photos and videos. You retreat to the corner to hastily delete a couple hundred photos so you can make room for more (something you’ve already done three times this week).

It’s time to end your war on phone storage space once and for all. Here are a few things you can do so the issue of smartphone storage doesn’t affect you anymore.

Purchase More Storage

Purchasing additional phone storage on an iPhone or Android is a quick, inexpensive process. You can sign up for monthly or yearly plans that regularly add storage to your phone so that “Cannot Take Photo” is sure to never pop up on your screen again. Monthly plans cost around one dollar and are well worth the investment.

Transfer Your Photos to Your Computer

If you’re a computer user, you might prefer your photos if they are on a bigger screen. You’re not going to have the same phone forever, so it’s smart to transfer your photos somewhere else.

Print and Display Your Photos

Physical copies of photos make for lovely decorations for your home and special keepsakes for family and friends. Each year, choose around 300 photos (or more, or fewer, depending on how big of a photographer you are) to print and store in either albums or frames. Computers crash and phones break, so physical copies aren’t only charming decorations—they’re good insurance.

Delete the Duds

We have a tendency to view photos as precious cargo, but let’s be honest: some of the photos we take really aren’t that good. The lighting could be bad, or maybe the focus is blurry. Maybe people weren’t smiling or someone had their eyes closed. Take a few hours to sit down and go through your photos. Do you really need all 500 of those pictures using up critical phone storage from that trip to the amusement park last summer? Delete the duds and free up some much-needed space.

Can Your Kid Rock A Seasonal (Ugly) Sweater?

Can Your Kid Rock A Seasonal (Ugly) Sweater?

Kids Ugly Sweater | Daphyl's Iconic Baby GearThe holidays are fast approaching, and with them comes one beloved and fun tradition: the wearing of ugly sweaters. This trend has rapidly become an institution; some people even host parties where everyone has to dress up in their favorite ugly sweater. It’s no wonder that a lot of parents want to get their kids in on the fun! But do these popular seasonal sweaters really look cute on your kids? They can, if you follow a few guidelines when dressing them. Here are some great ways to ensure your kid looks their best (and has fun) when wearing their ugly sweater this holiday season!

Keep it Comfortable

Kids are generally not fans of uncomfortable outfits — and who can blame them? When decking out your little one in their festive gear, make sure the sweater is comfortable and cozy. You want it to fit well and look good. After all, it will be hard to snap a bunch of cute photos if your child refuses to wear their sweater.

Not all humor is created equal. There are some hilarious ugly sweaters out there that are decidedly adults-only. You don’t want your kid missing out on the joke because it goes over their head! Luckily, there are tons of age-appropriate ugly sweaters that are fun, festive, and perfect for the younger set. Save the more mature humor for your own grown-up ugly sweater festivities.

Give Them A Voice

Kids have their own unique opinions and interests — let them celebrate in their own style! If your child loves comics or science fiction, grab them a sweater that shows off their interests. Have a little one that’s wild about unicorns? There’s a seasonal ugly sweater for that, too. By getting them involved, kids will have more fun with their holiday outfits (and be way more likely to let you dress them up when the time comes).

Throw A Party

If you and your child are really into the whole ugly sweater tradition, go all out! You can host a party where the dress code calls for ugly sweaters. Kids will love showing off their outfits, and you can hold a competition (complete with corny prize) for who has the best — or worst — sweater in the bunch. Make sure there are games and snacks galore, and the good tidings will roll right in. Parents can dress up too, if you want to ensure the fun has no age limit. You can even have the whole family wear matching sweaters for maximum enjoyment.

Make The Call

Seasonal sweaters aren’t for everyone. While a lot of people enjoy the fun and good holiday tidings, others would rather give this tradition a miss. If you or your child aren’t feeling the holiday cheer, there’s no shame in skipping this one. If your kid prefers a less flashy sweater (or a different outfit entirely), don’t stress about it! The holidays are meant to be a time of fun and celebration, and nobody is going to enjoy themselves if they’re stuck in an outfit they don’t like. Whatever you decide, make sure you celebrate the holiday season in a way everyone can enjoy — no matter what they choose to wear.

Beatles Quiz

By | Kids Fashion, Music, Parenting

My 9 year old, Nicholas, really enjoys reading. He recently found a book series at his school book fair that he fell in love with. It is called the Who Was Book Series, it is intended for children, and the book that caught his attention is Who Were The Beatles? by Geoff Edgers. There are over 120 books in this series, 6 of them being musicians.

He now walks around like a Beatles expert telling the family all these interesting facts about The Beatles or quizzing us to see if we know the answers; we hear a lot of “Did you know…” and “Guess what…” It is very cool to see him delving into the history of the band and not just the music.

We were driving through a town called East Liverpool the other day and he saw the road sign and said “Liverpool, that is where The Beatles are from, but in England not America.” We got a good laugh out of that. So without further ado, I thought it would be fun for him to come up with a quiz about The Beatles to test your knowledge, see how well you can do!

Beatles Quiz Questions:

  1. What name did The Beatles go by before they became The Beatles?
